So I contacted ANet about this and they said to post here.
I want to gift my friend the full Season 2 pack so we can play through it together. Sadly I spent my money on HoT and that’s how I have so many gems and she can’t afford to buy gems, and neither of us can farm that much gold

So the idea is to implement gifting of the Season 2 Complete Pack from the gem store.

Also, I got another idea but I don’t know how allowed it is:
I’ll trade someone items from the gem store of value equal to the price in gold of the Season 2 Complete Pack. Right now, it’s 232g13s66c for 1280 gems but I’ll gladly give items of value 1300 gems for that amount of gold.

This is true. If the friend wants rewards, they have to own it, though.

Why don’t you change gems into gold? And send her gold. Or you can buy some weapon on the TP for 250 gold and give it to her. Then she sells it and buy the season 2. Problem solved.

Well yeah, but my friend wants the rewards so she needs to own the Season 2 episodes as well.

Because I don’t have enough gold and I can’t farm that much gold. Also, if I exchange gems for gold, it’s a bit more expensive than to convert gold to gems. That’s why I’m offering this trade….

One possibility. Do key farming and buy weapon skins to sale. One weapon skin frequently sells for about 100 gold. You can do key farming together, do one a day, till you both get the 10 scraps/one ticket. Then you can buy and sell the weapon skins and pool the gold towards buying the Season 2.
