Hey heroes! I just got another character slot and I need your help!
I want to create a necro but I kinda noticed a pattern in creation of my characters. So, I was thinking about asking for some ideas from the community.
I need a name for a necro.
I’d like him to be Human, Asura or Sylvari.
Doesn’t matter if male or female, I like the idea of both.
I imagine his character to be a dark, self centered, only-good-for-himself guy/girl who benefits through other people’s efforts and misery. You know, classic evil =P
Some sort of Neutral or Lawful Evil.

Soooo, fire up your imagination and give me some suggestions. Screenshots would be a plus =P

Deaths Shadow? or in japanese ‘Shi no kage’

I dunno create way to create a name is take desired english words and translate them into another language = awesome name.

It depends on race for me. Lore-wise, as a general guide, sylvari often have Celtic-derived names and only a single word, humans can have a mixture depending on their ethnic heritage and (by GW1 tradition) tend to have surnames, and asura have single word names, rarely more than two syllables, and often with double consonants. You can use that as a guide if you want to, it depends on the kinds of names you go for.

A distantly Canthan (i.e. Asian-looking) human necromancer with a Japanese name would work, either gender. Asura necros are fun, my friend has one who is female with pigtails but looks pretty creepy, with narrowed eyes. Asura names also let you use puns very easily if you’re that way inclined (naturally I can’t think of any good necro ones right now). Or sylvari necro, again either gender, could be very cool – sylvari lets you play around with colour combinations, blacks and sickly browns or winter-themed blues, lots and lots of flexibility. Plus freakishly coloured eyes.

I can’t think of any fantastic name suggestions right now, but if you narrow down what you want I’ll give it a go!

In addition to Curuniels guidelines, some of the sylvari have names based on plants, a handful of NPCs and many players. Because they’re influenced by both celtic mythology and flora, maybe a name that plays on both those venues?

Tormentil – a yellow rose that grows in bogs in ireland, bogs have always been associated with mysticism and necromancy in celtic myth. Plus, it has torment in the name, which is a pretty cool addition.
Cailleach – Celtic God of Death, probably taken though :P
Perth – Celtic name for a thicket of thorns

Deadly Night Shade would be a good for a Sylvari – maybe suit a female necro though wouldn’t look awful on a male.

Think of all the Doc names you could use and they look cool

Look at latin names for poisonous plants.

E.g, I have a sylvari named Leveillei (anemone leveillei is the woodland anemone plant).
