Help on a Glass Cannon build for duel dagger thief
I only played the thief prof once in the first beta so I’m not 100% sure, if I was to take a wild guess I would suggest maximizing the precision tree to get as much crit as you can for those flurry attacks that thiefs do. That’s the fundamental mechanic behind my warrior glass cannon build and I’m sure it would apply to a thief all the same.
get quickness and spam heartseeker
I’ve been conditioning myself and applying poisons and bleeds, then swapping to piston/dagger to step away and finish that way
get quickness and spam heartseeker
^ Whatever he said, don’t do that.
been using the thief since the betas and absolutely love them.
i like this build for more of a solo/spike thief: THEIVES GUILD
use two utility slots for assassin signet (power) and infiltration signet (initiative gain) and pair it with a venom (spider for dps) – when times call, equip with other more appropriate venoms if enemy does severe dmg.
use this for more support thief: DAGGER STORM
again, assassin signet for one utility, scorpion wire to pull enemies into aoe or into the middle of your party to either isolate, focus dmg, or trap. use other utilities that suit the situation (shadow refuge to stealth allies and heal; or smoke screen to block projectiles and blind with ranged attacks).
as for traits, i like to focus on precision and critical dmg, but make sure your deadly arts (power) is high enough so you deal high critical strikes.
even though you have a good build you need to know how to play a thief. you can’t run in and tank or else you will get destroyed; you must get behind your enemies and out of their sight so you can drop a few harrasing attacks to soften them up, then when they’re health is low or they begin to panic, get in and finish them off. jump into their face with heart seeker and dodge out to get out of their range. make sure to use your stealth effectively and sneek behind them to deal x2 dmg.
don’t forget to use dodge as much as possible and stay mobile, this is where the thief is at it’s best, where you can drop in range and deal critical dmg, and dodge out to avoid being hit. make sure you have the trickery trait “uncatchable” so whenever you dodge you drop caltrops to cripple, giving you an advantage to jump in and out without any worry of being severely damaged.
hope this helps
