Guild Wars 2

Hey guys, I bought GW2 last month and just now realized World rankings will play a huge role on the game later on. I just now started researching World stats and realized the world I’m in (HoD) used to be one of the best ranked worlds a while back and is now Tier 7 (?).

Can anyone offer any advice on picking servers for later on? I dont wanna end up on another HoD. I’m thinking about rolling JQ, SoR or BG. Currently leaning towards SoR.

Sea of Sorrows is an awesome Oceanic server. I live in the US, and I can tell you that there are alway people on, and it’s a really friendly server. We have guilds such as, The Mutineers [YARR] and Fifty Shades of [BEAR]. I’ve spotted a couple of Devs on our server as well.

If you want hardcore WvW zerging then SoR is your choice. SoR’s forte is the massive blob that destroys everything in its path.

Outnumbered fights is what makes Blackgate shine. I’ve been in countless outnumbered fights that turned in our favor. We also have many individual players (roamers) that are very, very skilled.

From my experience I’ve noticed that SoR does not use any tactics rather than zerging. Don’t get my wrong, BG also map zergs, but there are alot of havoc groups, roamers, and tagless guilds which makes BG a very tactical server.

JQ is good if you want a heavy PvE and WvW server. Although, in most matchups they get tossed around and usually cant hold their own against BG or SoR unless they double team.
