I don’t get a whole lot of time to play between work and kids and i’m about to spend all my gold to craft lvl to as close to 80 as I can get, so I wanna get my moneys worth out of it. So question is which class is better at PVE with and not completely useless at PVP. It will be between my 34 engineer, 42 guardian and 54 ranger.

If you would rank them on damage, support, etc it would probably be
1. Guardian
2. Engineer
3. Ranger.
Ranger and engineer are regarded to be the worst classes in the game. There are builds to make them useful and okay and a lot of players like how they control and play (I love my might stacking flamethrower engie), but when it comes to PVE, dungeons, PVP, etc guardian out of the 3 would win hands down.

I figured it would be Guardian, ok thanks a lot.

thieves they never get Nerf and other classes Nerf is depending on the thief QQ, like RTL.
i have guardian, mesmer, ranger, Ele and lastly thief. and The thief is my most unchanging class, and you only need to press 3 botton in PVP.

Its Guardian out of those you listed…

EVERYONES happy to see a guardian on there side…wether in PvE, PvP or WvW…

DEFINITELY Guardian mate! As Meglobob said everyone loves to have a Guardian with them… I would suggest going PTV with it as well. Makes you tanky as can be and still have good damage output. PvP use a Hammer build. PvE roll with greatsword. Just be sure in PvP to use heaps of condition removal as that is the bain of the Guardian’s existence!

I barely die in Zerg on my guardian: hammer/staff full pvt. 0-0-30-30-10. Soldier runes and shout utility. Is pretty cool. But can sux when you run solo so I switch to Gs/staff.

He clearly listed 3 professions and said he didn’t had much time to play, let’s really help as player to player and not suggest our own fav profession which should make him reroll, no?

Allthough I’m a huge ranger fanboy, I suggest you stick with guardian, like meglobob said, everyone is happy to see a guardian in their group. I’m not sure about it’s dmg output and whether that makes it less fun in pve when playing alone. But taking account every other aspect in the game I can think off, guardian for sure.

From my my knowledge, Guardian brings a lot in the table for party-wide support and tankiness (although ironically, I heard Guardians have very low base health).

Engineers have really nice tools to do some mob farming. During the Secrets of Southsun event, I had an engineer with a pistol and shield and destroyed a lot of Young Karkas with that combo. And the flamethrower is a nice DPS equipment.
