Help please, new player
Hi Vincent,
I myself am a level 80 thief, and I totally agree that the leveling can be excruciating (although not as bad as many other MMO’s). Do not worry the game will get fun once you reach level 80 and the process won’t be so long that you have to worry about looking good. To those who would complain about my comment on leveling, this is just my point of view – I mostly enjoy WvW and world events, not the leveling process.
Vincent if you are looking for other people to play with I suggest you Join a guild, meet people and chat with the players online. Go ahead and add me in game as a friend, I can help as best as possible.
Welcome to Guild Wars 2 and have a good adventure in Tyria!

Edit make it your goal to reach level 80, and see how you like the game from then on.
Thank you! A guild might work and i already tried WvW although i dont get it too much. I will try to add you, tyvm!

I would advise you don’t try WvW till you are nicely geared out as a lvl 80. You will have a bad experience otherwise. I’m happy to help, so feel free to contact me whenever I am online.
Oh ok, i did get some nice xp although it lags because my laptop isnt that good. Did you get my mail?
Yes it can be a more enjoyable way to level up if you stick with zergs (large groups of players) in which case go for it but if you are going alone, there is little you can do as a level 26. I’m not online currently, but will be tomorrow.
Just as the other player mentioned joining a guild will help out a ton in getting you more involved with the community. As well as help you make new acquaintances and friends in game.
You can start doing dungeons at level 30 so hang in there you are just around the corner. The game doesn’t change very much at level 80 in fact the only differences between being level 26 is the access to a broader range of content and more skills. At level 80 the game stops progressing instead you begin to fine tune your play style, adjust the look of your character to your liking, and just doing more of what you are doing now. Exploring the world of Tyria, going through dungeons and battling out other servers in WvW.
My suggestion is to take it slow, enjoy the world around you and just have fun with what you’re doing. The heart hunting isn’t everyone’s favorite thing, but you also gain experience from gathering ore, cooking materials, and wood, as well as crafting. I hope all this helps.
Oh and one last thing the Wiki is great help if you ever get stuck on something there are plenty of secret little caves and hideouts in the game that all have something worthwhile in them. You can get to it from the Wiki link at top of the page. Its not a perfect source of information but it is helpful.
Yes I agree. There are many things to be done in Tyria! One thing you might find rather unique – I know I did – is jumping puzzles. Go check them out
Thanks all, will try some things out :0
