Guild Wars 2

Hey everybody! I love gw2 so much, but I’ve never been able to pick a main. I know I’m a little late for the heart of thorns hype, but I’m going to get into it. The classes I’m looking at are either guardian, warrior, revanent, or necro (for reaper). I love classes with a big heavy hitting feel to them. I’m not necessarily looking for the highest dps, but I like a respectable amount of damage and survivability, (I mainly do solo play, but have nothing against playing in groups). So I was just wondering which one you guys thought would fit this description, be the most fun, and make the most sense in the story.

Well a lot of this kind of thead going on recently but i’ll try to answer tho the decision is up to you.

You like heavy looking so i suggesting Warrior he has highest hp regen in game, you will lose some dps in exchange for massive hp regen (Defense trait), high movespeed, high hp pool, great survivability, can use various weapon setup but war might be boring cuz no flashy skill vfx < this can be solved by using legendary or some glowing weapons.

My second nominations would be Rev my favorite class even though it very unstable and buggy atm but give you alot of buff (Glint), great survival can deal a bit more dps than war but use less weapon setup than war (mostly sword/x or staff and hammer for ranged)

About necro/reaper, he’s a beast in solo play but light armor and you probably will end up with condition build (scepter/x/staff) for more dps, super survivability due to hp steal, highest hp pool in game and minions, in your case you can still use power build with GS/Axe or Dagger cuz you mostly solo……errr a norn or charr necro sure looks cool right ?

I’d say necro all the way for that mix of DPS and survivability you’re looking for. Necro has all kinds of life steal great combos with all the wells and reaper is awsomely fun and allows you to face tank even in full berserker gear. Necro also has solo play capability, can you can usually solo most group events.

So all in all, I’d recommend necro, but like @Eros said, Rev and Warrior aren’t bad picks at all.

Personally I’d recommend either Guardian or Warrior. Heavy armor, both have access to greatswords and hammers, so you will feel like you’re the big guy wading into battle. Both have lots of survivability and can solo very effectively, but also have alot to contribute to group content as well.

I love my reaper, but the greatsword has been receiving some complaints of late from other necros. No clue why, but apparently they feel it’s clunky. Also you’re a light armor class, so you’d be wearing pants or a dress.

Revenant doesn’t have a big weapon to use, so you will lose that there, and there are apparently a lot of kinks being worked out of GW2’s newest class.
