Help with arrow carts
I just think most players are ignorant of the abilities of various siege weapons when they make them. I’ve found them pointing point blank at walls inside a fortification totally useless.

I’m having real trouble operating arrow carts.
I know ppl build them on the inner edge to avoid being targeted from the ground but that makes it equally impossible for me to target anything with the cart.No matter where I position, I can’t ever see more than a tiny corner of the ground, usually a spot nobody ever enters
Is there some trick to it?
Roll your field of view outwards and then try targeting, Contiguous. Maybe move your mouse so its facing the target area from an oblique angle. The arrow cart is meant to be an indirect fire weapon. Even though it looks like it should shoot straight out, it actually is meant to shoot up in a high arc and fall down on the enemy.
And then, there are times where the placement is poor and you simply can’t target anything.

I’ve got my camera at maximum zoom permanently. The field of view in GW2 is awful anyway. (I’ve put my display on letterbox size too, giving a slightly wider view at the expense of being a bit small).
I’ll have to experiment with placing my own and see if I’m any better. Thanks for the help!
I think we should be able to zoom out a bit more when operating sieges like arrowcarts. But the trick when an arrowcart is on the back of a wall,to just aim it infront of the gate eventhough you barely see where youre aiming, you will hit people, and rams with it,just pay attention to the dmg you do and occasionlly see if the rams hp is dropping then you know you hit the right spot.
I know your pain but its still workable, some times you just have to use people. I’v had a few times I couldn’t see over the wall to tell where the bulk of the enemies are and just follow others targetting (other arrow carts) or just feel around till you see a big spray of damage numbers fly up. once you found them just see what side of the aoe has more and its save to asume they ran that way
Don’t forget you can target, in some cases, the edge of your own wall, and half the projectiles will be over the enemy’s heads. The limitation there is that you can’t target right at your feet.
