I am broke.

I’m simply not making enough in the trading post. Because so many people are selling at the same price as vendors, and the 30% tax, I’m not able to profit of my costly Armour and jewelery builds.

What advice can you give for selling things in a market saturated by items selling at cut throat prices?

In WoW I used to build up bundles of things and sell them in bulk. This would usually result in some nice returns, but GW2 doesn’t work like that. I’m not completely sure where to go from here. It seems as though crafting isn’t worth it while the market is flooded.

Go into the world. Kill things. Sell the gear drops to vendors. Repeat. You will get money. I have.

im having the same experience as you and i think most people are. as you said many people are selling items at extremely low prices. my guess is because many dont actually realize how the trading post works and also because it has only been active for a such a short amount of time.

give it time. people will realize they arent turning much of a profit. it will work itself out.

your best is bet to get money is to just farm. running dungeons or group events and selling gear to vendors.

i would advise holding onto anything worth a fair amount of money, including crafting materials until things get sorted out.

and if you have a few spare silver, now is the time to invest. buy low, wait out the rush and sell high.

The economy is real bad right now. I’m assuming it’s combination of a world economy and a week and a half delay on putting in items. By the time the TP went live, a big portion were half to max level already. And all that stuff they were saving flooded the market. Under cutting happened. Now most of TP is just barely over vendor price. Like the other poster said. Just have to get out there and do stuff. Maybe you will get yellows or in demand crafting items.

The people selling just over vendor price are losing money. You’ll get more just vendoring all your stuff.

When you go to sell something, if the lowest buyers are just over vendor, then you should just vendor it.

The people listing for that price are idiots basically. After the 5% listing fee and the 10% after it sells, they are usually getting a good chunk under vendor price.

Salvage your 70+ rare and exotics though, in case you get an ectoplasm. You’ll want those for crafting or to simply sell on TP.
