Hey everyone! I’m still fairly new to the game and I hear people using terms that I don’t know what they mean. I was also wondering about things in crafting like mats (I think is part of the mystic forge) Anyone willing to help would be much appreciated!

I am all forms of Kuduka.

Check the stickies at the top of this subforum for some very useful tips.

Which terms don’t you understand?

zerg is a large group of players sticking together to take down champions or enemy camps and towers in WvW.

As for dungeons I can only think of a couple of terms that are used often.

LFG = looking for group, solo players that want to run the dungeon.

LF(x)M = looking for <number> more, a group thats already started that needs that many more for a full party. The max party size is 5 players.

Dungeon master is a specific title you get for completing every dungeon path in the game

Pug = a solo player not part of a group, used when some of the players in the group are in the same guild or are friends to refer to other players. The term doesn’t mean the players don’t have skill or cant complete the dungeon but a lot of the players that don’t roll with a guild usually are more inexperienced.

Story = a group doing the story mode of the dungeon in question

P1, 2, 3, or 4 = the dungeon path in the explorable mode of the dungeon, usually players decide when forming the group what path they are going to do

These all below refer to the specific dungeon. The explorable mode is always 5 levels above the level of the story mode. Most people prefer you’re level 80 for the explorable mode of a dungeon.
AC = Ascalon catacombs
CM = Caudecus’s Manor
TA = Twilight Arbor
SE = Sorrow’s embrace
CoF = Citadel of Flame
HotW = Honor of the Waves
CoE = Crucible of Eternity
Arah = The Ruined City of Arah

Someone might want to explain the ‘tactical’ terms as well.
Like “stack”, and a few others.

Thanks so much and in Twilight Arbor are the paths up, down, and something else I can’t remember? Not that far into it yet. Just unlocked Twilight Arbor story.

They’re forward, up, and Aetherpath. The Aetherpath is level 80 and particularly difficult in that it requires more coordination than the other two with more dangerous mechanics. I’d recommend saving that one for when you have a group of friends or guildmates to run it with.
