Help with which character?
I say guardian or ele
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
You will need to describe a bit more what you enjoy playing if you want us to help you.
Lol, well i narrowed it down to these 4 which i enjoy playing, i’ve tried them all out to about lvl 30 + PvP, just need to figure which one of these i want to level 80 first.
Guess i want something that does fast and decently high damage?
Fast and decently high damage = thief
Tradeoff: Horrible at anything more than a 1v1

How about fast and decently high damage that can target multiple mobs?
That sounds like a warrior to me, but it’s not in your list, and they have a damage/range tradeoff anyway… so I guess ele for you

Haha i hated Warrior so much :P
Well, no class is perfect, for ele it translates to a serious lack of passive survivability. Eles have the worst base health and use light armor… so get used to keeping your distance or dodging regularly. ^^

Any AOE class I have leveled until now (that would be necro and ele in your list) was horrible while leveling. Guardians have a pretty decent overall damage during the leveling part, I’d go with a greatsword guardian if I were you.
None of the classes are hard to level as far as getting exp is concerned. The only thing that would make a class “hard to level” is if you do not find the class to be be enjoyable and the only sure way to know that is to play it.
The biggest problem with “play it to see if you like it” is that it can take many levels to figure that out. It took me until lv80 and then some to figure the right setup that made me really like engineer.
Alternatively you can always take my approach. One of everything(and maybe two elementalists …)!
You forgot to list the best profession, Mesmer!
In all seriousness. If you like engineer you’d probably enjoy Elementalist more than the other two simply because Ele’s require a bit more skill to play decently from the get go with the 4 attunements. Of course all of them are hard to master especially Necro but Ele’s have that skill management difficulty you should be used to with Engineers.

What I meant is that if you’re looking for AOE damage during your leveling, you’ll end up disappointed. Both classes I have mentioned have weak damage before reaching 80. Which makes me say I wouldn’t be searching for AOEs too soon.

ha, sorry completely false information if you know what your doing and chain things together you can take on big groups, not as big PvE groups as other classes but still big.
as for PvP or WvWvW then yes you can take on multiple players if you chain and are patient.
personally i would say thief for you or Ele, ele’s are fun but seem rather dull to me after a time and while the thief doesn’t have an abundance of specialist builds a lot depends on the players ability to dodge and react in time.
Hmm i’m stuck between Elementalist and Necromancer now, can someone list pro and cons for me and suggest which one i should level up to 80 next?
Eles can burst more than necros is all I can be bothered to remember now. :p

Well that is REALLY one of those ‘have to try it first thing’. Death Shroud is one of my least favorite class mechanics. It’s fighting for last with ranger pets.
Using it feels awkward but it does live up to its name. While in DS you can’t die, at worse you end up leaving DS.
Elementalist? Well I have two elementalist …
Edit: Go with the necro instead.
As much as I <3 my elementalist, an engineer can do the same but better when compared to a staff elementalist. D/D is fun but feels lacking in the CC department. Never really liked scepter and focus has some nice defensive skills but I never felt a need to be that defensive either.
