I’m thinking about buying GW1 just to get the HoM rewards for GW2 and well, it really seem to be an awesome game to play too =), but i didnt found anywhere on the internet or these forums if i have to have the full 30 HoM points to buy a single armour piece? or i can gather less to spend on a single item?… I really dont know how this works…

you can gather less, each HoM point unlocks one reward.
So if you only want the heritage boots you only need to get one point.
The points are of increasing difficulty. so the first are very easy to obtain.
If you buy any GW1 campaign and link the gw1 account to your gw2 account you get 3 points and so 3 unlocks in gw2 ( the heritage boots, the heritage pants and the heritage coat).

If you want more rewards you also need the expansion eye of the north and start playing the games to make some points. Here you find more info and a guide how to obtain the different points: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guide_to_earning_Hall_of_Monuments_rewards

Thanks for the quick answer, this is really good news! so basically i can just link the gw1 account to my gw2 get 3 points and trade for any 3 pieces of heritage armour i want? this way i’ll be able to play gw1 enjoying the game without runing after other HoM points =)

Yip indeed.

The HoM points are awarded for showing dedication in gw1 and are off increasing level of dedication that you have to show. The first three are for those dedicated people trhat bought the original game and linked accounts.

Off course if you are going to play gw1 I highly recommend to also get the eye of the North expansion. The platinum edition (first campaign and the expansion) currently cost the same as a single campaign). This means that even without caring bout the points when playing, you can get the rewards if you accidently gain some :P

Not any 3 pieces, depends on how many points you got.

1 point, you get the shoe/boot skins (light, medium and heavy)
2 points, you get the shoe and pants
3 points, shoes, pants and chest
4 points, shoes, pants, chest and gloves
5 points, shoes, pants, chest, gloves and shoulders
6 points, shoes, pants, chest, gloves, shoulders and head piece.

BTW, just by getting GW and link your accounts, you’ll get 3 points.

I believe that you have to have EotN in gw1 in order for the rewards to register for gw2. I don’t think you can just buy a campaign and link your accounts to get the three points.
Here https://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9029 click on the first pop down that says How do I get my Hall of Monuments rewards?, there it says (provided that you have established a Hall of Monuments in Guild Wars: Eye of the North).

No you don’t. My second (storage) account only has factions and no eye of the north:

Yeah i used the calculator, so your second account has the first three points?

My second account has the first three points without owning Eye of the North, it still gets the boots, pants and coat.

You can actually do even more without owning Eye of the North, but that requires prophecy’s. The titles in pre-seering can be added to you HoM from Ascalon.

So theoratical it is possible to get up to 8 points without having access to Eye of the north or ever buying Eye of the North.

The way to do this is by never leaving pre-seering, getting the legendary defender of ascalon title (hit level 20 in pre), drunken title, sweet tooth title and party item title.

However with the limited resources for these titles available it takes considerable longer and you need all 5 to get 8 points in total.

Ah i knew about getting the points in Pre, but i thought you had to have EotN unlocked on the account first. Thank you for clearing that up.

And if you’re really looking for a challenge you can try to get the Survivor title in pre.

Memory is getting fuzzy here but IIRC without access to HoM you can’t ‘dedicate’ any of those titles.

You remember wrong. It isnt documented on the wiki but there have been reports on the gw1 guru by people who did it.

Just a tip: You don’t trade your HoM points for items. Based on how much you’ve unlocked is available to you, on all your characters, for the very expensive price of 0c. You can re-purchase anything infinite times for… 0c.

Yes, there are very few methods of adding things to your HoM without access to EotN. An example is Legendary Defender of Ascalon (level 20 in pre-searing) by talking to Historian Scrimm (I believe)?
