I’m hoping people can help me to understand how this new system will work and what it means for some of my current (soon to be old items).

I have Tomes/Scrolls of Knowledge saved up. Should I use these now or is it better to save them?

I also see some people saying you should get into PvE and complete all the skill point challenges you can before the update. Why is this, what happens if I wait?

I guess the main question I’m asking is should I be more proactive before the arrival of Hero points. As in, will I have regrets if I haven’t followed up on some of these things or will the new system not change it that much?

Perhaps someone can link a good article that explains it well.

Nothing will happen, the thing is to unlock all trait + skills after the update you’ll need 465 (iirc) hero points, and a level 80 character will have 400 hero points automatically, the other 65 points will be earned from the current skill challenges (will be called hero challenges after update) so you’ll be just anticipating it but you can also do it later if you want.
So, try to check if your characters have at least 65 skill challenges unlocked, if not complete them.

About tomes/scroll, I’m still not sure if I should do something about it, I think it is better to wait for more info.

For tomes the “gives 1 level to a character that is under level 80” functionality will be staying but it is uncertain if a level 80 can still get a skill point(or equivalent in the new currency) out of it. If you are only planning to use the tomes to level alts to level 80 or just to skip a couple of level then nothing has really changed.

There won’t be much change to the scrolls either. You can use them now or use them later or some now and some later avoid having to do too much clicking all in one go.

- If you don’t need skills points right now just leave the scrolls alone.
- If you do need the skill points for buying skills or traits right now then you have to decide if you want to wait. When the change is released skills and traits will no longer require skill points but there might not be any refund.

As for the skill challenges. They might theoretically make (some) of them harder to complete but I doubt it. There could also be some new bugs that breaks some of them on release which would be slightly annoying/inconvenient. Other than that the only other reason to complete them now is to make sure you have the maximum number of hero points available so you can unlock absolutely everything. If you have at least 65 challenges done you should be fine anyway.

I’m for the wait and see option. Until we get some additional info about what will happen to those items when the update happens, rushing to do something with those items does not seem to be the best idea. It may not hurt, but it may remove some choices you get when we learn more about the final changes that will happen with the update. I have yet to see any valid argument why rushing to do something NOW will give any advantage after the update.
