After I finished the LS3 episode, My personal story popped up on my monitor even though I have “hide story and events” selected in options. I tried selecting default, then selecting it again, but it didn’t work.

It’s not very clear in the options menu but the Content Guide settings only affect what the arrow points you towards.

The main purpose of the Content Guide is to help new players or those who otherwise aren’t sure what they ‘should’ be doing find things to do. So if you’ve got any story chapter active it will default to constantly pointing you towards that and won’t show you map completion points or events.

‘Disable Personal Story’ and ‘Hide Events and Personal Story’ are there so it’s possible to use it to help with map completion or navigation.

But even if you turn it off completely your story (and events) will still show up in the list on the right hand side. There is no way to disable them completely, except to complete the entire personal story so it’s not got anything to remind you about.

Players have asked repeatedly to be able to customise that list, but aside from a few basic options (such as choosing which achievements are on our watch lists) we’ve never been able to.

My personal preference would be to have a tab in the Hero Panel, or Options or somewhere like that which lists everything that could currently be shown there and then allow us to switch each one on and off as we wish. In my case I almost always keep the Content Guide off but I’d also really like to be able to remove the achievements list completely as I rarely do dailies. Sometimes it would also be helpful to hide certain events. There are some areas where multiple events overlap, and you’ve also got updates on the state of big meta event chains (which won’t start for another 2 hours) and it would be nice to be able to cut it down to just the one/s I’m actually doing.
