Has anyone found a good event chain, or a little island with easy to kill hordes of mobs (cow level) to farm XP for HoT masteries?

Ok, here goes:
-For Central Tyria mastery points, take alot of experience boosters on kill etcetera, and go to Citadel of Flame with a party, there, get to the part with the 4 lava fonts, where you would normally each man one. Just stand in one or two and let the flame legion spawn. Keep killing all of them with quick AoE across the party. Keep this up for as long as you like, this is the quickest way for those masteries at the moment. (Confirmed by friends.)
-As for the Heart of Maguuma masteries, I would recommend the nighttime events in Verdant Brink, just South of the Central rally point. Besides that, there is an amazing event chain in Auric basin, starting from the Northern encampment. It’s 3 seperate event chains, spanning about 20min+ in all, if you take all the right boosters, especially killstreak boosters this should give you about 3k experience per kill, and there is a lot of kills to be had!

i’ll bring this thread up now that spider farm got nerfed (at least i heard it did).
which method of exp farming in hot is the most efficient now? events are not an acceptable option (nowhere near enough exp).

Why do you rush with The masterys anyway? You dont need them, i suggest that you enjoy the game, do the events, exploring and you will get the last exp. Dont see The use of brainless grind for nothing. And after u are done, what then?

I enjoy playing the story, the story is gated by masteries, your suggestion would be … ?

It’s not heavy gated. I had all masterys needed when i came to that point (exept when posion lore was needed). That IF you do atleast some explore on The map and event. But if it’s your first time in jungle i guess you are, instead of rushing main story..

i actually do need them for map completion. i want the fix-r-upper and for that i need to farm masteries. i am not particularly interested in hot gameplay. i don’t want to do exploring i just want to finish those maps asap and move on to something that’s actually fun to me. open world exploration isn’t something i enjoy.

there is no necessity to discuss why anybody would want to farm masteries. the question is whether there are any other farming spots or not.
personally i will just drop hot and perhaps gw2 if there are not since i am not very happy about being forced into specific gameplay.

Why do you want 100% then if HoT is so boring. Dont understand..and you dont need much masterys for 100% either. Only hard thing is stealth gliding. So basicly u need 4-1-1-1 in The masterys for story and that weapon

Dragon’s Stand has always been great for XP.

you should perhaps actually read my post. i need the itzel poison thing to access hero points. that’s the one i need in order to get the map completion. this map completion i need for the fix-r-upper collection.
i also don’t enjoy having something at 8x% or 9x%. i want to complete those maps but i have no wish to participate in events or even stay a second longer there than i need to.
that’s why i’m looking for another exp farm. that may not agree with your playstyle but that is not the topic here.

@ ayrilana: i have tried ds a few times. apart from open world event being pure torture to me the exp gain is nowhere near what you got from the spider farm. that’s why i excluded events.

all i want to do is run around in a circle for a few hours, get the last hero points/vistas/pois which are blocked by masteries and than never set a foot into the jungle again.

You get between 1.5M and 2M XP with full boosts when doing a normal run. If the map is strictly for farming XP, and following an optimal route, you will exceed 2M an hour quite easily. It may not be as brain dead as the spider farm but it was how I leveled my masteries so quickly. The primary source of your XP will come from mobs that you kill.

You will get that weapon from 100% complete im VB aswell. There you dont need posion lore.
