Q:

So I just purchased Guild Wars 2 last night to play with some friends. When I finally got the game fully installed and patched I went to create my character, but it seems I am unable to do so on their ‘Full’ world. Does the ‘Full’ listing just indicate: (a) that the server is currently at its maximum capacity or (b) that it has reached a maximum number of players calling it their home world/realm/server?

My friends seemed to think it was answer (a), but after having tried last night for about a half an hour and this morning for over an hour (with 10 hours between those two attempt sessions), I’m beginning to become concerned that it might be (b)

If anyone has any answers they would be greatly appreciated.

A:

It’s (b). But the server capacity was already raised a few times. So there might be more space later on.

With the current “free to transfer” situation it would be best if you created your character on another server and either wait for free slots or request your friends to transfer to a less populated world.

Thanks zogrim. I was a bit concerned that (b) was going to be the answer.

As a follow up, if players transfer off of a world, does their guild go with them? Or does it poof?

Guilds work across worlds. A guild can have players from multiple homeworlds, however the influece of the guild is exclusive to the world where the players generated the influence and bought the upgrades.

So if the guild is on world A and they travel to world B every influence and upgrade remains on world A and they get a clean start on world B. If you ever get back to world A your guild influence should remain the same as you left.
