Resuming:
1 – Install SSD in the PC
2 – From your old HDD you can mirror your windows to the new SSD
3 – Change your BIOS to boot from the SSD instead of the HDD
4 – ???
5 – Profit

I would suggest backing your data up first. Personally id do a fresh install of the OS anyway. Windows 7 can take an hour or three. Windows 8 about 20 minutes. And windows 10 about 30-40 minutes in my personal experience.

Yeah depends on how your Windows installation is.
In my case when I bought kitten I had a dedicated partition just for windows so I mirrored that partition to my new SSD and done, everything was working.
But if you have only 1 HDD and everything installed there, then a fresh install as Riku said may be a better option.

Not quite sure why you would ask people on GW2 forums rather than going to let’s say tom’s hardware or other hardware forums lol. But you install an SSD the same way you do a hard drive. Just plug in the SATA cable to motherboard and link it to the SSD, and then plug that into the power supply.
I copied the data from my hdd to my ssd using samsung’s migration tool, but when i try to boot the OS from the ssd it says there’s an error.
I also can’t use my mouse in the bios :/
Any advice?

You may want to check what type of bus you have and such. Unless it is a significant speed drop the easy way would be have the SSD be an external first, configure it to have your OS, then move it to an internal drive later if you want to tidy up things. If you can keep 2 copies of your OS there, I boot off an SSD on my mac but have a nightly clone to my HDD so I can use it as a boot as well.
