Hi ya’ll

Ive been running a warrior for a bit now, and I can not seem to get any solid information about Aggro, and how it works in the game (The Aggro page on the wiki is part of a section called “Out of date information” so I’m not sure how accurate it is.)

One person was telling me it had to do with Toughness, and that the more you had the easier it is to get aggro.. That seemed to explain why I always had aggro while running path 2 of SE.. (I was running with Scholoars, and Explorers with Rabid, and Berserker armor, I was in Knight’s armor )

Earlier today I was grouped with a Guardian with just as much, if not more Toughness than I have, and I still constantly got Aggro. She was telling me that the game targets the weakest person in the group, or the one who dose the most damage..

Contrasting this with my SE run from last night, I was the one with the Highest toughness, but the final boss of path 2 followed me the entire time I was in the fight, and I am sure to have been doing the least damage to it, and I was always farthest from the mob.. I spent the whole time Kiting the bosses…

Can anyone clear up the aggro issues for me? I know there are no “Tanks” in GW2, but with 20k Hp I think I am as close as one can get to a tank.. No?

Depends on the boss. It’s speculated that certain bosses will prefer certain stats over another aka the one with the most vit or toughness on some and maybe the ones with the lowest vit/toughness for another. One common trend is if you try to res someone, the boss will be aggroed towards you.

Yes, The Aggro on Rez is plainly obvious, and one reason why people don’t seem to want to Res in a group.. Especially if they boss has an AoE attack..
