80 Human Thief – 80 Human Guardian
80 Norn Ranger – 80 Norn Warrior
I am new to this whole concept. I am trying to be good st my class which relies heavily on Condition Damage. I have seen posts where it talks about " Damage per tick, or you dont do damage on the last tick" . How do you figure this out. Where does this info come from so I can evaluate my abilities. What is the math behind it ?
It depends on the type of condition damage you are doing, there are different base calculations for everything. For example, bleeding damage is calculated and stacked very differently from poison.
You can find the exact math here on the different types of conditions and determine the damage per tick per level:

Click on the specific type of condition damage you do (i.e. bleeding) and it will break it down for you.
Hope that helped
Usually, the “per tick” refers to per interval. Condition damage works by apply damage to the victim continuously for a duration, in consistent interval. For example. if the “tick” is 2 second, then damage per tick will be the damage applied every 2 second.
I could be wrong, but 25% = 1 tick. And likewise 50% = 2 ticks, 75% =3 ticks. Thats what I worked out with my thief. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. So essentially if you had 70% condition duration you would be getting two ticks and wasting 20% condition duration you could have applied to something else.
The main thing to remember is that only whole seconds count for condition duration. It means that if you see something that will cause bleeding for 5.5 seconds, that bleed will cause damage 5 times even though the condition is applied for a total of 5.5.

while that is true, for intensity stacking only (bleeding and confusion, is the only 2 that pops up right now in my head might miss one or 2) if we applied the same duration to a poison ex. (or any other that stacks duration) and then applies it twice we would get to a nice round number of 11 seconds

Here is a post I was in. We had a quick learning experience about conditions. Hope it helps you.
