I never noticed until today, but apparently even if armor is just damaged (not broken) it already starts to lose some of its stats? I was under the impression that only broken armor has stat penalties, given that the tool tip for damaged/broken armor states “when all pieces are damaged you will begin to lose effectiveness”. If only one piece is damaged and you already lose stats, that tool tip is very misleading.

I just repaired four damaged pieces and saw no difference. When did this happen?

Was at Jade Maw in fractals, normally I can out-heal the agony but this time it killed me. My backpiece was damaged, not broken, and someone in my party said that’s how it’s supposed to work. If it’s damaged I don’t get as much agony resist from it. I’m not sure if that is intended or not…

That explains things- I don’t have any agony resist. I also have no idea how that works, sorry…

I’ve never heard of damaged gear affecting stats. Nor can I find any examples of it.

Doesn’t seem like something I’d expect to occur, either. If damaged gear affected your stats then it would force players to frequently reverse direction while they quest/wvw/dungeon to revisit the repair stand. That’s counter-intuitive to enjoyable game flow.

If the armor is still yellow, it doesnt affect stats.
If you damage (yellow) all of your gear, next time you die, the armor is broken (red) – it doesnt have a visual appearance and stats

Happen sometimes when I run dungeons. I saw my mates naked after dying a lot.
