I made a different email account – I have never been hacked…but with everything going on I’m not taking any chances.

I logged into my account online and see NO option to change the email address associated with my GW2 account.

Anyone know where I’m supposed to do it if it’s not under “my account?”

At this time, I don’t think you can. If I recall correctly, that feature has been disabled because the hackers were changing the email address associated with account. ArenaNet disabled that function so as to make it so the hackers could not do that.

So when they tell us to take precautions – apparently they don’t really want us to? They want us to wait until we’re hacked and then wait another 5 days for a ticket?

Or.. you could just use a strong password on your email account and GW2 account and it won’t matter.. the so called hackers are usually just people who get their hands on a username/password (or pw hashes) list of another game/forum etc and try them out here. ANet has never confirmed that actual hacking has been done (hackers breaking into anets servers and stealing/manipulating customer data) – I don’t think that has happend yet, thus you’re safe as long as your password is unique and not easily guessed.
