Let’s say John and Peter is in a party already. They are looking for more for a dungeon I want to go.

Is there anyway to join John and Peter without whispering them?

Like type “/join John”? Or do I have to whisper them to invite me to party?

Yeah “/join <<playername>>” works if you want to join an existing party and “/invite <<playername>>” works if you want to invite another player to your party. Alternatively you could use the ‘party’ menu on the left-edge of your screen (near the top) but in my experience the /join and /invite chat commands work without any problems.

Also, you know how if you click on someone it brings up a little info thing about them at the top of your screen? You can right click on that and select an option to ask to join their party.

I would be careful about just joining a group, even if they are looking for more people. It may not be a big deal for some. But, some may feel it is a bit rude if you don’t at least give a quick whisper before inviting yourself to the party.

I think it depends on the situation. Almost every random party invite I’ve received has been from someone I’ve ended up doing an event with, and I haven’t taken offence (I interpret the party invite as a general “hey, want to party?”). I’ve also generally refused these random invites, but I figure that’s the right I have as the one being asked. Still, everyone has their own expectations.
