How do I level up in guild wars 2?
Play the game. This post is at the top of this forum.

Honestly you’ll find it harder not to get experience, since you get it from pretty much everything.
From memory these things all give XP:
- Uncovering areas on the map
- Finding waypoints, vistas and points of interest
- Gathering crafting materials
- Crafting
- Killing enemies
- Completing dynamic events
- Completing heart quests
- Completing your personal story
- Doing skill point challenges
The easiest/best combination of efficient and fun way is just to roam around the open world doing a bit of everything. Head towards Heart Quests you’ve not completed yet (you can also use these to identify areas that are the right level for you) but do any dynamic events you find along the way, gather any crafting materials you come across, kill things that attack you, then go and do your personal story when you’re the right level for the next bit.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Don’t forget reviving allies. That also gives experience.
Also achievements gives exp, dailies are good ones to look at, like salvage 10 items, kill 30 ambient creatures, even level up gives more exp haha
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I feel like I’m WAY too close to a permban to express my thoughts, so here goes:
Maybe you enjoy world completion or spvp or WvW
You can’t walk ten feet in this game without stumbling face-first into some exp.
- map completion
- crafting
- personal story
- pvp
- wvw
- dungeons (but you will be shunned by zerkers)
- gathering
- do your daily and monthly
- jumping puzzles
@Xenon:
Dungeons are only an option if you’re level 30 or above. (The first dungeon becomes available at level 30. Many others become available much later.)
They’re no trainers, in case that was really his question.
