Guild Wars 2

Good morning all. I have been trying for a while to play scens with a friend. So far the only thing that seems to work is:

1) Free Tournaments. However sometimes it takes a while for them to pop.
2) Try pugging it, joining the same server. However more often than not, we end up in different teams fighting each other.

I haven’t read much about this game yet, just went straight into scens so maybe there is something i am missing? Is there a way to join regular scenarios, with a friend, and make it so we are always on the same team?

edit: Thanks cuth, yes i was talking bout sPvP. I was doing exactly what you suggest, i was hoping there was something else i didn’t know. Oh well, i still have fun when i switch groups and i get to kill my friend hahaha.

Pretty sure the OP is not talking about story mode, but sPvP. Right now you can get into the same match as a friend by right clicking on them and selecting “Join PVP” (or something similar). You are not guaranteed to be on the same team however. During the match if there is inbalance, you can switch teams by clicking the + button next to the team you want in the window that comes up when you press ‘B’.

Other than that, tournaments. But tournaments are tough right now with no ranking system.

If you are talking about the personal story, you can’t.
If you are talking about PVP then make a team with you and him on it. That should do the trick.

Hang on. You can run personal stories with friends. I’ve been doing it with mine for 50 levels.

Make sure both of you are on the same server and in the same instance (so both of you need to be out of overflow, or in overflow).

Make sure your teammate is near you, then run toward the Green transition point indicating a personal story. Click to enter, and your teammate will get a window asking them if they’d like to join in.

If you’re both on the same stage of the personal story, you can both get credit.

Then all it takes is to be in the same team and zone/server.

um…excuse me,but you can indeed party for story quests…im not sure why people think that you cant, but you can..
o have been doing it with my wife,and we have been going into each others story quests to help one and other.
be sure when you start your story instance that your party members are standing near you..when you click enter an option to join you will pop up for your party members.

I was able to do this originally… for the first portions of the quest. However, I think if you are on different parts of the same quest, you can’t join. A friend and I were not able to join each other’s for a few quests. Have not tried again since. But it was the part where you join one of the 3 factions.
