Q:
How do i take HD screenshots?
you can change it so that the game creates bmp images instead of jpg.
1. right-click your game shortcut and click Properties
2. in the Target box put a space after the last " and type in -bmp, then click ok
this will make the images better quality, but they will be 3+mb big

Make sure your in game resolution is set to the correct resolution you want as raw output from video card. If your video card isn’t capable of going up to 1920 × 1080 pixel or even 1280 × 720 pixel, then you can’t get a source material with those resolutions.
Remember that your display might be showing something else depending on the quality of screen and how large it is in real life, so you might want to use another display to make sure how it would look on different display.
Example: a cellphones display with exactly 1920 × 1080 pixel (around 10 inch screen real life size) look very different from a HD TV with 40 inches. That is happening because of pixel density which means that the larger display the more pixels you would want to give an impression of visual clear picture, but that has a “cost” in terms of need for more storage space. Compression (like JPG) take away some information which we wouldn’t notice in normal situation, but when you make a larger picture you will start to see that it is something missing (more pixel that fill out empty space). Bit map picture (BMP) is still a compressed picture, but less compressed then JPG (this depends on what kind of setting that have been used for JPGs algorithm). In computer setting PNG is considered best option for highest rate of lossless compression (translated: picture will keep as much information as possible from original source). I don’t believe GW2 engine support PNG output to video card.
Look up on desktop or where you have your shortcut to start your client (gw2.exe). Right click on that and add that last command as suggested in the field for which point to your client (path) to change what kind of compression should your screen shot have. As explained bmp can be very large files compared to jog which comps files harder. If you don’t know what the difference are beten those two I would suggest that you look up a general wiki to understand more about picture compression on computer. You will also find a better explanation for different command on Guild Wars 2 wiki.
You don’t need to change key bindings or anything else.
The other option would be to use Nvidias ShadowPlay (recording software for video card from and for Nvidia) or AMDs Raptr (or what is now being called). Those kind of apps records game play which you should be able to get a screen shot from. Just be aware that those picture are also being compressed. H.264 is a video compression in much the same way as for common picture JPG, the main difference here is that H.264 is meant to be viewed on moving objects and not still pictures which is what JPG have been more designed for.

ok, after doing step 1 in my original post, look at the properties box that pops up and find the target box (it is in the shortcut tab, so make sure you’re in that tab).
in the target box it normally looks something like this |“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe”|
so change it to look like this |“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -bmp|
(Notice the -bmp is outside of the quotation marks, and there is a space after the last quotation mark)
then click ok and run the game from that shortcut.
you don’t need special keybinds, just the normal screenshot key in game (whatever that is for you).
hope that’s a bit clearer
