Guild Wars 2

I’m almost level 40 and I still have yet to craft any leather armor for my thief. The most I’ve ever done was craft stretched leather squares and sigils and things, and I’ve reached the point where I no longer get XP for crafting the same stuff over and over again. I tried to discover new recipes, but none of the stuff I have seem to make a combination. I checked the wiki for some of the ingredients I need to make some gloves and boots, and some of the ingredients I need are too high crafting level for me to use, so I’m stuck. What do I do? I want to be able to craft my own stuff. I’ve been gathering materials like crazy. I have a bunch of materials that I can’t use because my leather crafting level is too low. Any suggestions?

You get the most XP from discovering. Open the discovery panel (above the production panel) and put in 1 insignia, 1 boot upper and 1 boot lower (or whatever it’s called).

The strategy here is to make 5 of each insingia. (Not at once of course because you won’t have the matts) Then discover one of each item. 1 boot with that insignia. 1 mask with that insignia etc.
