Mail denied me. Is the only way through a community bank or something?

Your bank is an account-wide bank. Anything you place there can be accessed from all your characters.

Or send it to a guildie and have them forward it to you.

There are Banks in every City, as well as being accessable via the Crafting stations. Anything you place in there (appart from soulbound gear) can be pulled out by other characters.
You can also deposit and withdraw money (gold, silver etc), but not via the Crafting stations – just the Banks.

The bank tab access in a crafting station is identical to the regular bank access. You can make money deposits and withdrawals, along with withdrawing or depositing any item not bound to another character.

Mail the best way, but there are some conditions.

I tried to mail an armour piece to a player on a different server and guild, and the system would not let me. However I could send consumable items to this player. The armour item might have been soulbound, so that could have been the problem…

I have sent armour, weapons, and dyes to players both in and out of group, on the same server and map using mail with no problems.

@bri: The thing the OP wants to do is to send things between characters on the same account (he gives that away when saying that mailing is denied). The answer is, as given by others up ahead, the bank.
