Guild Wars 2

I have no idea how to apply the quaggan backpack to another backpack now that I leveled up. Can someone either explain or point to somewhere where I can learn how to salvage the backpack and apply the skin to a better one?

As a side note to Anet this is not intuitive. A simple right click on the bag to remove the skin would have been way more convenient.

you must utilize a transmutation stone (regular if item you want it on is below 80 fine otherwise)

Double click the stone, put the 2 items in the windows that pop up (the item you want the skin on and the item you have the skin on)

Select the skin of the quaggan backpack then select the stats of the higher level item

If upgrades were applied choose the upgrade item you wish to keep

Click confirm.

Now my problem is that there is no section on the trading post for backpacks? So I have no idea what to buy now that I got to level 60

back items are all soul/account bound, you will get 2 during your personal story (a level 30ish one and a level 80 green one) others will be from karma merchants, guild armourer (beleive its level 80 min though), dungeon drops or special crafted ones (aka ascended back items)

yeah, there are SOME tradable back items but you have to search the TP for “spineguard” or “back” or “brace” to find them

Ok I figured out how to transmute…it is not as user friendly and intuitive as I expected but it worked. I think the interface needs help text on the side of the window, maybe something like
→ Select stats to keep
→ select item

Or have a ? button you could click and see a little animation showing you how to do it.

yeah it is a bit spartan in that respects, but at least you know how now did you find some decent back items?
