Q:
How does +Magic find% work – is it best to build up as much % as possible through explorer armour, runes, trinkets etc, or there is a cap on the total increased magic find? I can build up to over 100% but is it really worth it/necessary?

I believe they’re still researching how exactly it works. But it can’t hurt to see on the wiki how far they are.
The exact equation is not yet known but what it does is the higher it is, the better your chances at finding rarer loot drops when you kill something.
If magic find works anything like it does in ARPG’s like Diablo III, a 1% boost does NOT mean 1/100 items will be magical, it would increase the magic find % by 1%. If, some how, you got 100% magic find, you’d simply be twice as likely to pick up magical items.
I have had possibly 95% magic find with Booster, Luck Talisman in weapon at 25 stacks, had food that gives +25% when under effect of a Boon, had 2 boons just to be sure.. and after around 50-75 kills, i got a drop (green) and that reset my magic find stacker.
So, near 100% or not, it aint do crap. I havent seen any change in droprate or luck finding, i get same with or without. Any and all gem boosters are just a waste of money. 50% exra exp / kill for example, noone in thair right mind in this game would killfarm for exp -,-. Karma Booster looks good on paper but since you don’t cash in tasks, your potential gain is severely limited.
I believe it goes like this:
If item X has 10% chance of dropping
then having +20% magic find will do the following:
Standard 10% chance
The magic find of 20% will mean 20% of 10% – in this case 2%.
Add 2 to the 10%
12% chance for the item to drop instead of 10, by having magic find 20%
I’m thinking that Magic Find caps out somewhere. I was under the impression that almost all my drops would be blue quality or better but I still get the occasional grey and white. I can get to 100% Magic Find with gear and a food buff. Could it go past 100%? Or maybe a percentage of something else?
The stat might require a bit more research, but I think Rika’s suggestion might be something to consider.
i think magic faind reffers to the qualaty of the item not to the drop rate guys …sry for my bad eng[correct my bad eng wana learn ]
