How does one map WvWvW?
You cannot WvW while guested. The only way is to wait until your server gets control of the points you need or transfer to a server that might have control of the points you need.
Main: Caeimhe – Sylvari Ranger
Alts: Charr Guardian, Asura Elementalist, Human Thief, Norn Necromancer
Best way to do it is to focus on your own borderlands first, and either wait for off peak hours to go to another map or wait for your map to change at the end of the week if it does. Eternal battleground may be tricky but it’s best to not stay on the road.
Dragonbrand [Formerly Devona’s Rest]
remember that the sides switch between 3 worlds(but it’s possible to stay on the same side for few weeks), so one week you map emerald side, then on next you can map ruby side for example. But you have to wait a month or more too map all. And if you play on weak wvw server getting castle points can be hard.
Thanks, guys!
On the switching colors, does one world tend to stay atop the pile for long periods of time (weeks)?

Which server are you from? Things have kind of evened out lately in NA servers, so there may not be as much changing in ranks as there have been in the past (because of server transfer fee). As I understand it, EU isn’t so balanced. Google MOS millenium WvW rankings and you can check your server and score rankings and you will be able to see where your server is likely to be in the coming weeks.
NA Borlis Pass. If their prediction is correct, next reset I’ll not only be in the same position, we’ll be fighting the same teams and they also will be right where they are.
Best tool on the WvWvW completions is patience and being aware of what you’re holding so you can drop in and get what you need and get out. Why get out? Because if all you’re there for is map completion, well . . . some servers can be intensely competitive and aren’t fond of people “taking up space”. Can we just leave it at that?
So patience, awareness, and a list of what you need on a small slip of paper while you monitor. When your server changes color position, get in there and get the things you can. If you have friends, ask who needs WvW points so you can go do them in a small group. (That should cut down on the danger of being ambushed and left for dead, which is a big thing when traveling alone.) It’ll help with the couple fight-based skill points.
For Stonemist, monitor your “B” Scoreboard and if your server has the castle? Haul your butt over there.
Well, this just stinks. As predicted: My world is the same color and position as last week, and fighting the same two opponents. With at least 2 vistas behind enemy fortifications, I’m effectively locked out of achieving the mapping achievement for at least the forseeable future.
What a transparent and disgusting way to make money: Create a title but then require players to spend real-world money transferring around so they can achieve it.
As a fellow Borlis Pass player, I strongly recommend you play right after reset, we owned one side of EB shortly after the reset, and then the other since the reset. If you’re talking about the Borderlands, that’s going to most likely be waiting game on your part, which sucks, but there’s really not much that you can do.
I went for the WvW stuff early on, long before I worked on all the PvE zones. I found that during events (Karka, Wintersday) people were distracted enough that WvW opened up a lot. A few dedicated Tarnished Coasters were zerging around the EBG (my last WvW to complete) and I followed them to victory
Mostly you have to just keep popping in to the maps and seeing what’s open that you need to discover. Eventually it will open up.
Events? That’s a possibility. I’ll keep my eyes open more keenly at those times.
I think I’ll put something in the suggestion forum: Introduce a small randomization factor in positioning. Perhaps a 50% chance of variances between 100 and 500 rating points. (It wouldn’t change the ratings, just the position for that one reset period.)
