How find Temple Events now?
You go to a map and hang out until the events are up.
If you need to attack a temple (for trait or loot), kindly ask the map players to do an attack run. In my experience, most players will oblige a polite request. If you find there are players unwilling to lose the defense event, you can get enough players to stand at the event and scale it up so that the defenders are overrun and lose.

Loot is better from killing tons of mobs over and over compared to a single, once a day chest from killing the priest.
And waiting is the answer, it just isn’t the one you wanted to hear.

No….they are maintaining control of the Temples so they are OPEN to players wanting Karma items. I don’t think Anet anticipated the effort players would go to in order to maintain 24/7 Temple control. The response should be altering the Event chain (so the Attaching force eventually becomes simply overwhelming as to force a failure) or changing the Trait requirements to something else (than killing Bosses that now almost NEVER spawn).

I hope Anet is aware about it and doing something about it, this is absurd, ridiculous. This game is becoming a mafia wars, some ppl control the champs in queensdale, others the temples, soon ppl charge extra fee for you be able to do the events?
The problem with the temple events is that there is no built in reset function. All event chains should have a built in system for resetting back to stage 1. For the temples, I’d go with “Win 3 defense missions” as the trigger for the reset function that then starts a mini event chain that takes the temple back to stage 1.

Well let’s not over-exaggerate the situation by decrying how HORRIBLE the situation is when what is being done is quite useful to the majority of players. Being able to obtain Obsidian Shards and/or Exotic karma items whenever you want is a nice change from having to search down an Open Temple and guest to the correct Server (and hope you get in on time that was previously the norm.
Not being able to earn the new Traits in a timely fashion is inconvenient and Anet needs to find a solution, but there are other options to obtain the Traits.
Nobody can stop anyone from attacking any Champ in the game…..there is NO control and you CAN close the chat window. Not saying your actions might not upset some people (and yes…that can be entertaining in it’s own right), but using the word CONTROL is in NO way valid. If you are intentionally disrupting the “train”, you do run the risk of Anet deciding you should be punished for griefing when it gets reported.
I have no idea what you are talking about people “charging an extra fee”….. Anyone trying to extort money from another player needs to be reported and I feel confident that Anet will take action (as long as a screenshot of the conversation is attached).
As mentioned above, if you can get enough players to simply run about in the defense areas, the event WILL fail due to the sheer number of enemies that will spawn.

I don’t get the logic of this tactics to group dozens of people around the temples to make the defense events fail. Oi? I am not Oprah Winfrey, how am I going to drag a bunch of unknown ppl around me to do what I want?
Wait…. IF I COULD do that, I could also successfully have my demands on keeping the chain events going on attended …
About helping each other, that is when you keep Balthazar uncontested 24/7, there you have your obsidian shards + the skins/gear. You don’t need any other open temple 24/7 coz they all give the same karma items – except for the kittenty back pieces – but no obsidian. However, sincerely, who needs armageddon skins or crappy backpieces??? do you think people are keeping temples open all day coz of THAT? How naive …
And what about dragonite ores and traits? People need that much more than…… armageddon skins, pls… lets get real…
Today, +3 hours running Malchor’s Leap around the temples, on their “post-victory” state, I think I know very well why people are letting the temples always open, and is not about helping each other, is about farming some quite expensive material.
If you know what kind of materials are more likely to drop after conquering back these temples then you know what I am talking about. 3 hours there and I got 1 of these quite aimed materials plus 1 other of minor tier. I won’t say it out loud otherwise this will become a curse ^^’.

But sincerely, people sell paths in dungeons, do you think is that absurd they start to charge fees to let you do events in Dredgehaunt Cliffs for example? lol I wouldn’t feel surprised, people can and ARE often quite nasty in this game.
Have you even TRIED to request in map chat that you need the capture events to obtain a Trait? Happened at 2 different temples in ML this morning and plenty of players showed up and waited for the event, then ran about for a bit as Risen flooded the area and we all ported out….. Worked like a charm to start the Capture event over.
Is it how things should work…no. Anet needs to either rethink the ways the Traits are earned or needs to ramp up the defense difficulty until it fails on a regular basis (no matter how many players defend).
BTW, all the “trash” Exotic items at the Temples have different STATS so there IS a valid reason to have more than one of them OPEN. Despite what the “reasons” you feel the Temples are OPEN, having these items available is valuable to some players (maybe not you).

From what you just stated it STILL sounds like you are claiming to have witnessed players extorting other players to not block events…..Have you or have you NOT witnessed this? Comparing that to selling Dungeon path runs brings almost all you observations into question. One is a Service (that I don’t condone) and the other is Extortion (that should be reported).
Sure there are nasty players in the game, but expecting them to be nasty and unhelpful might not be the best way to approach a problem and get a solution.

yes I did ask, and there were ppl sitting on Dwayna stairs to kill the champ, they were like, “whatever”, maybe didn’t even read what I said. Before I post here I opened a thread somewhere else coz a player told me she was sitting there the whole day waiting for it, ASKING ppl a favor. I just didn’t sit there like her but had the same experience.

– I am not stating anything, never did, that’s why I said I wouldn’t feel surprised IF that happened.
What I said about the karma gear is simply by the fact I have never seen ppl spending +200 karma points in an rabid, dire, whatever set they could earn with less than 10 gold in TP. 10 gold you earn in 2 days if you are a quite naive or lazy player, in 3 horus if you run dungeons. 200 karma however……. weeks?
Is not like you have berserker gear there to buy with karma (which costs a lot in TP) and for that matter I really don’t believe ppl are keeping temples open for that reason, really… cmon…. lol this game is all about loot and there are plenty when you break the chain event to keep going.
