Guild Wars 2

Hello fellow mmo enthusiast’s, been drifting from mmo to mmo for the past few months for a few days at a time. My goodness am I bored.

Thinking of returning to guild wars to, would reroll from my 80 warrior if I returned for a fresh experience and to bond to a new character.
Have not played since a week after launch since I hit 80 and got close to 100% map completion.

How is the state of end game atm, and wvw sieges. Is the game still very lively. Also recommend a good populated server.

Good to have you back! The atmosphere is great, population is high, currenlty we are having some really cool event Dragon Bash When LA transfers you to overflow it means there are loads of people!

Start a new character, join some fun guild and you will feel like home

Honestly, it’s about the same game it was 10 months ago. Most of the content that was added was removed shortly thereafter in an attempt to make the world seem like it is “alive”.

As far as population LA never really has an overflow anymore unless you are on the big 3. I haven’t seen an overflow in a long time in LA. WvW population is decently stable and it’s pretty much your only option at the moment for end game after map completion. There are fractals, but those get boring pretty fast I think for most people, and there are still no hard mode dungeons or guild content (beyond the guild missions which aren’t very exciting and small guilds can’t participate)

Take heart! It’s not all bad, as I said WvW has had some big updates recently, and you can actually kind of get gear in WvW now. It’s still a huge difference between PvE rewards and PvP, (PvE is far more rewarding). Also there is a balancing patch coming up that we are hopeful will fix the problems with broken and useless classes and builds.

Has it still got that system, where I cannot play on another server because I have an 80 on a different server. Will I be able to transfer that 80 to a better one?

You can only transfer your existing character to a new server if you pay a transfer fee – all characters on your account must reside on the same server. You can delete all chracters from your account (basically start from scratch) and move server for free, I suggest you research your new server options and make your mind up before doing this. Also, make sure you put anything from your existing character/inventory into the bank before you delete them.

You can however guest for free now, so you can reinstall, load up your level 80 and go and try out some other servers before deciding where to move and whether to pay the fee or delete and move for free.
