How many del. Ingots for dusk?
as far as I can tell, you need 30. 15 for the experimental nightsword blade and 15 for the hilt
all 3 tiers, only 1 has componants that need deldrimor ingots (if I read the wiki right)

| 61 Asura | 5 Charr | 2 Norn | 1 Human | 1 Sylvari |
That’s what I thought too, but does that include the collections I have to go through? the dang wiki has like 5-6 different pages with collections and recipes and crafting which is why I’m having so much trouble. >_<.
I forgot about the collections XD
in the collection:
15 for 5 Deldrimor Steel Greatsword Blades
15 for 5 Deldrimor Steel Greatsword Hilts
10 for Weighted Nightsword Blade
10 for Balanced Nightsword Hilt
10 for Superior Nightsword Forging Tools
so, yeah, a few more than 30

….holy crap on a cracker. Ok well than…I got a big decision to make tonight.
If we sold the deldrimor I have right now, I could get around 240g off the TP, minus whatever taxes, and we have all the other mystic forge gifts already, just dusk is holding us up…plus I still need 500 weapon smithing to finish it which will cost a nice chunk of money too. Ugh this is so hard. >_<. Realistically I’d say my group could get 6 deldrimor a day from crafting and buying off the TP.

Wait for the Acquisition section to load if it doesn’t load immediately. It gives a break down of the costs.
Well I think I decided after using that tool I’d just be better to buy dusk off the TP since we’re already this close and I still need 500 weaponsmithing. Plus I can always come back and finish the dusk collection at a later date. If we weren’t already like right at the door I would say just wait but since everything else is good to go, I figure why not.
Thanks again man!
The thing i want to know is why does the Dusk collection require so many more ascended materials than The Legend collection? They’re both two handers. Why should people need an extra 30-40 deldrimor ingots than someone crafting the legend (who only needs about 50 spiritwood). Seems incredibly unfair. I’d understand if it was just a one hander, but this doesn’t make sense.
On the other hand it is still 160g cheaper than the legend. Enough for 20 ingots.

It might cost fewer materials, but the materials are more expensive (which makes crafting The Legend more expensive than crafting Dusk). So, it comes out pretty evenly.
the entire thing can get confusing to track on the wiki, so i like to use https://gw2efficiency.com/crafting/calculator/29185-Dusk which gives you a full breakdown of every step, plus a shopping checklist, plus an option to use mats you already have when factoring in your shopping list
Thanks for the reply guys! I guess i just hate the fact that it is timegated so much. But i also understand that if i didn’t want the timegate i could just buy the weapon. And thanks for that link =)
