That’s a pretty nice rig. Is hard to tell how much FPS you would get since there is no real math or calculation for that.

I’m sure your PC will be running smooth though.

Upgrade your HDD to an SSD maybe?

You would be on max settings pribally 50 to 75 fps. I give that range because lets face it when under heavy load in like wvw its going to drop. That being said. If you dont need the massive hdd i would opt for a ssd as it will improve your performance with faster hdd access and loading. Beleave it or not does make a difference. Everything else looks fine although might want to make sure the cpu wont bottleneck your gtx 660ti. Dont think it will being its an ivybridge, but dont know intel cpu’s well enough to say one way or another.

It’s an Alienware X51. I’m buying from the site, and there are only so many options available, and there is no option to install a SSD. But I read SSD only makes your PC boot up faster and has nothing to do with the performance of gaming? And the GPU is not an GTX 660 Ti, it’s a non-Ti

Is hard to say tbh. SSD pretty much cut load times since the speed is way faster then your average SATA drives running at 7200rpm. So pretty much everything that requires your HDD to load / run data it would be faster with SSD.

What I mean by is hard to say is, for GW2 i’m not sure which portion of the games uses the HDD part in terms of loading data. I.E loading new zones, new world events popping up. etc.

But hey, if you can afford an Alienware, you can afford to spend another $80 or so on a 120gb SSD

im running a i7 3920 3.6 GHz, 16 Gb RAM, Win 7 pro, GTX 670, SATA 7200 rpm 1 gig.

i run on max settings 60 to 90 FPS. in WvW big battles I will drop down to jerky frame rates.

switched to best performance no jerky frames in biggest battles. but the picture does degrade a good bit.

Might want to double check everything then given nvidia has not launched a gtx 660 yet. Be it standalown or company based. Only the gtx 660ti. The gtx 660 is rumored to launch later this month. Link to the site your buying from if you dont mind. I would like to see what there calling the gtx660.

I made a video to demonstrate the difference an SSD made to me with the guild wars 2 zone loading screens:

Would definately suggest making the switch.

You probably had a lame PC, because it took you 34 secs to load on HDD.

For me it takes about 15 sec and I’m on a bad PC atm, I bet if I buy a new pc, it will be even less. Maybe having a SSD would only make a 2 sec difference there
