im currently 66, and im wondering how gold scales once you hit max level? I only have like 3 gold atm, and havent picked up my lv 20+ talen book…

If you sell everything then you probably make about 10 gold per character. After that you’ll have to farm gold or try and play the market.

yes, but how much does gold scale at 80? Like quests give 2 silver ish atm. Can I expect 4-5 silver at 80? How about item drops, items yield 40-1 silver, what do lv 80 drops look like?

Nope coin is still in 1-2 silver/mostly 1. Karma events only give 378 max karma. they have Karma banners, but even with the banners I still only see 378 as a reward. 3 gold is about right when you earn it legitly when you just dinged 80. You will have enough Karma for 2 pieces of Exotic at dinging 80, and half way to a third piece of Exotics.

ahkay, so I shouldnt feel behind or anything, nice. I spend a great deal of gold getting cooking to 400, so I kinda felt like I might be dreadfully behind due to it.
Considering cooking doesnt make you money at all…

I did manage to make small amounts of silver via selling bags at a 50c-1s profit back in the first month, but then I stopped playing due to school…

The easiest way to earn some coin if you are finished with crafting. Mind you it not earning massive amounts at once in a short amount of time. But a little adds up over time.
Pro tip:
Sell Green and blues at vendor, not many people buy in between gear levels on the TP meaning – 33’s, 47’s, 64’s 78’s – Most buy new gear on TP in 10 level increments. IE 20’s 30’s 40’s etc, so vendor the green and blues mostly if you are done with crafting, a lot of greens and blues at vendor in the 80 bracket are like close to 1s sometimes a little more.

The bags you get, Like pinched bag of goods, moldy bag etc. that you double click to open? Just TP the bags some bags are over 2s usually a little more then 1s per bag.

Rip apart Whites, sell mats.

Early yesterday I had 10g, mostly from dungeon runs. when I got off I was at under 1g, bought 4 of the 50s runes of holding and made 4 15 slot bags for my main, bought crafting mats to get leatherworker closer to 400, and bought 5 Superior Runes of the Soldier to push my Vit/Toughness to higher levels. I find if I just do 3 AC Dungeon paths per day I average 2 gold a day, now I could do more, but too much of one dungeon can get tedious and burn you out so I tend to limit myself.

It’s not like I have to have tons of gold to do what I want, I’m not even contemplating a legendary yet as I still have to do 100% map completion and the last Wv3 maps I need to do look like they’ll take a while to finish. Plus I still need to finish off every area south of Lion’s Arch (with the exception of Southsun Cove as that isn’t counted)

I had 15g when I reached 80 by being cheap, knowing what to salvage and what to vendor, and up grading my kit only with loot drops.

When I reached lvl 80, I had something a long the lines of 10g I think. Now, a couple of weeks later, I still don’t have more than 23g or so I think ^^° Did spend quite a bit in between though, and I’m not farming anything and only doing dungeons occasionally.

Ummm… all I can say is a guess, my guild was looking to save up 100 gold and by the time I was 80 I had donated 20 gold to the cause. But I still bought all the trait books and several MF runes I knew I would want as well as waypoint costs and armor repairs so – maybe about 25g by the time my main hit 80.

I levelled a lot faster on my alt though, certainly made no more than 10-15g before I hit 80 on that one. With my main I was doing all the hearts and such, my alt was just a lot of DE farming which grants more xp for completion thus the faster level progression.

I managed to get 24/5g on one char and I’m still lvl 75 on my main. Trait books bought. However this does require you to run dungeons since lvl 27.

I got lucky with drops was running AC all the time since I was (and am) helping new folks with their first story/explore.

The level 70-80 hearts in Frostgorge Sound rewards cap at between 3 and 4 silver. There are no hearts in the three Orr zones. Gaining gold via hearts is not in the cards. Level 80 blues go for just under 1 silver and greens for between 1-2 silver, iirc. Gold drops are best sold on the market, as they go for ~20 silver or more, or get a Black Lion or Master Salvage kit and salvage them. If you get a Glob of Ectoplasm, those sell for >25 silver atm.
