Guild Wars 2

I’m assuming this allows you to swap stats? Is this ingame or part of HoT release? If ingame, what do you do to convert?

You do not get to choose the stats on the new item that comes out. Stats depend entirely on the exotic insignia/inscription you put in forge with the original piece.

Technically it does NOT convert the item stats. It does the following.

• You toss your existing Ascended item (with all upgrades) into the MF with the other recipe items.
• You get a NEW Ascended item (of the same type sans upgrades) that will allow you to CHOSE the stat combo you want (from those that are normally available when crafting the item).

You DO NOT get the same item back with new stats and your old upgrades intact. It’s certainly better than our previous options, but still not a TRUE, straight up stat change.
