Q:
How to determine in-game time?
Grab a Ghastly Weapon (from the Ascalonion Catacombs Dungeon Vendor) and proceed to equip it when you feel like it may be night time. You’ll have to unsheathe your weapon (an unbound key unless you use any weapon skill). If the Ghastly Weapon starts to glow, it is night.
Thanks, Esplen, although that’s not precisely what I’m looking for. (Although it may be the closest we’ll get.) The Ghastly Weapon may tell me if it’s day or night, however just looking around I can usually tell that. What I’m hoping the game can provide for me is “what time of day or night” is it exactly? Especially in the day, is it morning, forenoon, noon, afternoon, evening, etc.
perhaps watch the weapon. figure out the start of night on consecutive days and determine from there? I know that sounds like a lot of work but it is possible.
I am not sure but I -think- that shadows get longer later in the day, so if you have full shadows enabled and see your shadow is very short, you are near noon. Of course it would help figure out timing if there were an actual sunset and sunrise that lasted longer than a couple of seconds.
I always meant to check this out – basically it’s a two hour cycle according to the wiki, if you know when it starts you will at least be able to know (the cycle according to your real time) – there seems to be no in-game setting to show this.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
Thanks, everyone. The conclusion I’m drawing is that there’s no in-game setting for this. I’d love to see them add it to the game, but I’d be the first to admit that this would be very low-priority. There are definitely other features and bug fixes I’d want to see them implement prior to this. Would have been nice though.

Yeah, I can see them adding something in the map so that in addition to showing server/real time, it can show in-game time as well.

Server time is not in-game time. Server time is based on GMT or something whereas local time is based on where you are physically located playing the game. The time we’re looking for in this thread is in-game time, used for day/night weapons/sigils or in this case, screenshots.
