Hey guys,
So I reached Lv 80 a bit ago and have now been trying to focus on more ways to obtain gold. I started armorsmithing and my skill is about 176 now with armorsmithing. I was planning on reaching a high level with it so I could sell more valuable items- but where I’m at now, I’d be losing money if I bought all of my ore at the TP rather than spend a long time farming it myself. Farming the ore myself works- but it takes a long time to do.

Another thing I will do to try and earn money instead of farming resources will be going to events such as the Shatterer and things like that- However, I can’t go to all events yet as I have yet to unlock all of the waypoints.

I’m not into PvP or WvW much- I consider myself more of a solo player than anything. What other things can I do to obtain gold? I currently only have 32- I’d like to earn much more so I can afford better equipment, dyes, and so forth.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. If there is also a craft much more profitable that I can switch out my very low leveled weaponsmithing for- please let me know as well.

Do easy dungeons: cof p1 and 3, ac all three psths, cm also, that’s 1 gold per 20 min plus tokens. World boss tour is a must, and farming sw is desirable.

You dont craft to earn money you craft to get easiest way to max tier weapons/armors ascended.

One of the few ways to gain money on craft is selling the material needed for ascended stuff. armor crafting being deldrimor steel ingot and bolt of damask.

If you are going to level crafting skill, go to http://gw2crafts.net/
It has standard guides, fast guides and even a mostly karma based 0-200 cooking guide. It updates with the current TP price of items every time you refresh it.
A regular guide is just that, more about discovering bunches of different recipes, whereas the fast guide is like, discover 1 recipe make 18 or 26 or etc of that item till next item break point. That break point is typically every 25 levels.
Normal is cheaper while fast is well, faster.
Right at this moment regular Armoursmithing 0- 400 is ~21gold while fast is ~28gold.

And if you’re going to fight world bosses, do Tequatl. You get 1 gold + several chests daily, which is more than other bosses (that I’ve noticed, anyways).

Some rules of thumb I have for getting the most gold out of loot:
– I Sell everything unless I’m saving it for a specific purpose.
– If I can list it on the trading post for 1 copper less than the lowest seller, I do so.
– If I can’t list it because the lowest seller is already at, or below, the minimum allowed price I sell it to a merchant.
– If I can’t list it because it’s account/soulbound I’ll salvage it with the best kit I can.
– If the item is a rare/exotic, is account/soulbound and can’t be salvaged then I store it until I have four such items. Then throw them into the mystic forge and sell whatever pops out.
– When you have 3 mystic forge stones create a Mystic salvage kit. When you have a Mystic Salvage Kit or a Black Lion Salvage Kit use every single charge of the kit to salvage ectos, buying them as required (buy order at 1c above highest buyer, wait until they arrive). Sell the dust, consume all the luck (using an artificier to reduce the clicks required is recommended). This will increase your account magic find, meaning you’ll get more stuff dropping, meaning more gold from selling the drops.

There are probably some items that I’d be better off salvaging and selling what gets spit out instead of listing the unsalvage item on the TP. However it’s not going to be a simple matter of salvage items of this rarity, sell items of another. It’s going to be, at best, looking up each item in a tool* that looks at the possible salvage output and current prices to see if that item is worth salvaging today.
Time spent looking up every item in my inventory is time that I’m not spending doing stuff that gets me gold. So, while I’m sure I can get better gold from some items with selective salvaging, I’m not sure if the time spent looking up every item will increase or decrease my gold per hour.

*A tool that might not exist.

If you have something you want that is available on the trading post, the quickest way for you to get hold of it is to earn gold via whatever method gives the most gold per hour then buying it. Though that might not be the most fun way to acquire them.
