Q:
How to get charged lodestones?
I’ve been trying to get these as well because I need 100 of them for Sunrise. I can tell you that if you farm Vet Air Elementals and Sparks at Lyssa for an hour you MIGHT get one. I haven’t done the dungeon, but others have told me that’s a good thing to do. Personally, I farm the champ train in Frostgorge. I get lots of other T6 mats even if I don’t get the lodestones, and I sometimes get charged cores. If you combine 2 charged cores, 1 pile of crystaline dust, 1 crystal and 1 bottle of elonian wine in the MF you get a charged lodestone. This is obviously going to be cheaper than buying the lodestone outright.
With champ farming I’m buying about 8 lodestones a day with the gold I make from selling/salvaging. Way, way better than farming for 1 our at Lyssa.
Since you need 350 making them from cores will save you around 108g but you will need 210 skill points.
According to a recentish post you can get around 7g/h from frostgorge champs. According to some much older post the drop rates of the lodestones from air elementals is around 1 lodestone per hour(with MF at somewhere in the 200-300 range). You’ll be able to get it from frostgorge farming much faster than the air elementals and it doesn’t have to rely on Temple of Dwayna being held.
If you’re ok with the grind of farming, then frostgorge is the way to go. Personally, I’d just do the CoE paths everyday, you get 3 gold from just running the dungeon, plus a chance of charged cores/stones and champ bags. You can also use the dungeon tokens to get exotics for ectos
In my experience, CoE is best. Run each path once per day. Seems like every chest has a chance to drop charged cores. This is atypical but this past weekend I got really lucky and got 4 cores in just one path. Also like others have said you can use the gold reward to buy more cores/lodes.
CoE is the best reliable source for charged cores/lodestones. Run all three paths daily at a minimum.
Champ farming for gold/cores is a great way to achieve them also.
So im getting that i should run all 3 paths of CoE, then with what time i have leftover do champ trains? What if i were to only do champ trains? Would i get more or less?
I don’t know if you’d get more or less, but you will make gold if you salvage and sell everything you get in the train. With gold you can buy them. My reason for champ farming is that I’m making a legendary, and I need 250 of every T6 mat anyway. I find it fun to do because I chat with other farmers. You’ll need to find a server with a good Frostgorge train. I have used Blackgate, Tarnished Coast and Jade Quarry. Recently just BG because I’ve met some nice people there.
I’ve never done CoE, so can’t comment on time vs. reward on it.
To just make gold by salvage and sell, you could also do the world boss train. You’ll get loads of rares which you can salvage the ectos from and sell, as well as tons of blues and greens which you can also salvage or sell. Our server does this every day at reset, but since it’s usually about 2 hrs, right at my dinner time, I only do it on weekends. The rest of the time you can find me in FGS
Just buying them off the TP with gold you acquire from your favorite source like champ farming is always a winning scenario.
CoE is one of the few places you can actually get charged cores and charged lodestones to drop. So if you are trying to farm them directly instead of buying them, this is your best bet.
CoE is very easy once you learn the mechanics and can be very rewarding for the time spent.
