Guild Wars 2

Scenario:
– 5 man party in dungeon X
– boss is man-sized
– players using lots of flashy explosions / etc
– random player (me) plays a squishy thief that needs/wants to see where the boss is facing and what it does, so he can Dodge & do max dmg (from the back).
– fps is not an issue, my rig is decent
– I play with no shadows, LOD & max textures / etc (game looks good)

Question:
Is there a way to get what I want?
– good details / textures
– less explosions / stuff, so I can see what the target is up to

since no one answered, should I understand that what I ask for is not possible?

dont play with ele’s, engi’s, mesmers, certain guards,

If turning down all settings isn’t working, the only thing that might help is to replace the shaders with some that do nothing. Not only does this require you to know some -LSL, you’d have to be able to identify which files these are and I guarantee ANet will not help you if you do something wrong. Really man, you’ll just have live with it.

I haven’t found a way around all the shiny explosions. Depending on the party comp, I grab my guardian and face roll things. No use to try to play timing your dodges and attacks/skills if you can’t see the enemy or their attacks.
