A couple of years ago, all the questions were about how to farm blade shards.
Now, I have stacks of them filling my bank, and would like to know if there is a way to make money from them? Anything I see on the wiki is account bound.

you can’t afaik. I’m done with them since I got the ascended metal-spider-backpack..
Just been dropping them ever since everytime I mine the clockwork mining node..

The only use of Blade Shards is to make ascended backs, which are bound.

For ascended backs with core stats, this has sometimes been a cheap alternative source. However, this varies a lot with the market. Currently, it’s not worth it unless you want the skin.

For example, using sell offers, the current market values for backs with zerker stats are:

• 70g — There with Yakkington: A Traveler’s Tale
• 101g — Quiver of Swift Flight
• 82g — Spinal Back (metal variation; leather costs twice that much, although is otherwise identical).

If you infuse using power cores, the spinal back fares better:

• 157g — There with Yakkington: A Traveler’s Tale
• 188g — Quiver of Swift Flight
• 103g — Spinal Back (metal variation), using Synergetic Assault Knight Power Cores

(Of course the infused Mawdrey is cheaper still. However, that requires a laborious scavenger hunt that not everyone enjoys.)

tl;dr no way to make gold from blade shards. However, you could save 50 gold if you need an ascended+infused back with core stats, e.g. zerker’s.

To go to an extreme:

Save them to craft Tempered Spinal Blades, then use an ascended salvage tool in hopes of getting Salvaged Dignity, which is selling on the TP for 205g right now. It costs 79g to craft, so good luck making any money.

I know, I know, it’s a terrible idea. But from what I can tell it’s the only way

That’s a guaranteed way to sink money from your account.
There are crazier get-rich-slowly schemes. Just seems like a lot of work when you could make other ascended backs for less.
