I have a pet that I don’t want anymore how can I “release” it is there any possible way to do this?

There’s nothing to be gained by realeasing it… which isn’t doable… simply tame other pets press K and slot in whatever pets you fancy using… F4 I think is the key to swap pets.

Find a higher level Ranger and have a chat with them about pets and how you should go about using them.

You can stash your pet also if you want to hide it for some reason (such as doing jumping puzzles, taking screen shots, etc.) by clicking the button with the down arrow on it in the pet control area. Be aware that zoning, being attacked, or falling (or some other things possibly) will cause your pet to respawn automatically.
