How to setup keyboard?
(Note: My laptop also has the numbers above the normal letters and under the F keys.)
There are probably people better equipped to answer this, though I will tell you my basics minus some fancy mouse buttons i have.
Firstly hold down right mouse button at almost all times, this allows you to camera navigate with the mouse and changes wasd into strafe instead of turn.
Secondly using this method you can use your left hand to punch in skill commands using the number keys above your movement controls, though maybe that just works for me.
Thirdly bind q and e and any other keys close to your movement keys (c, r, x etc) to important skill slots (I’d use skills 7, 8, 9 or 0 as they are hardest to hit using this method, or even heal as its very important)
Fourthly I use middle mouse button as heal, though this depends on your mouse, some have sticky buttons, mine is very responsive. In any case don’t forget about it as an easy to use button you can bind.

This is what I generally do too. Rebind the A and D key from turning to strafing like when you are playing a shooter. I rebound all keys around wasd to my skill slots starting from left to right is (1,q,e,r,2), healing(g), utility slots(mouse thumb buttons and mousewheel), elite(shift+R). I only play an engineer so we have toolbelt skills but every class has some sort of other f1-f4 skills which I bound as (z,x,c,v). For AOE, enable fast ground targetting so you can just fire off the skill at wherever your mouse is.
