I did fractals last night after dinging 80. I bought all lvl 80 masterwork equipment and have one exotic. Everything has upgrades in it.

The thing is that I seemed to die MUCH more easily than when being lover lvl and upscaled. Can it rally be that it upscales you to be better than an average geared lvl 80?

no it doesn’t upscale you more then average geared level 80. Maybe you made some ill-decissions on the gear or accidently resetted your traits (at level 60 I forgot the book resets your traits, though it is actually more difficult to reset your traits it is possible you forgot you did so).

It could also be that your group wasn’t as good as the group(s) you were playing with while upscaled, or you had a bad group composition. That can make a world of difference as far as survivability.

I don’t know what kind of gear you got or what kind of build you’re running, but if you die often you need strengthen the defensive side of your loadout. Either get defensive runes (like soldiers), or Knight’s gear (Pow/Pre/Tou), or drop a few trait points into a defensive line. If you need more specific tips, you should provide a bit more information about your character

Did you change gear orientation (i.e., from balanced stats to glass cannon) when you bought the green 80 gear?

you might have to respec and re-adjust your trait skills, until you find your likeing, it may take a couple tries before you find your happy medium. so pay the coin to unlearn your traits,(this resets your tait points) and stick the points in different slots until you find what you are looking for as a class style.

I haven’t noticed being more squishy at 80 then previous levels, but one thing i have noticed is being downscaled after you hit 80 makes you VERY squishy, the downscaling in this game needs some work. Either it downscales you too much, or not enough. As far as upscaling goes, it sets you to an average and shouldn’t be better than true 80. I haven’t noticed anything to indicate otherwise
