I don't know where to ask this: Does Magic Find Stack?

I’m guessing it stacks cumulative, not multiplicative.
So you add all + Magic Find you have on gear, trinkets and runes (and boons) and you’ll have your value.
if thats true, im currently at 79-80%(79 being when i have my staff equipped). as soon as i hit level 70 though i will be at 100+
which raises another question. Does it cap at 100%?

i dont see why anything would have caps…especially magic find…
and just to clear it out abit how magic find works.
it stacks just like any other stat, not sure if there is cap or not. but its not -solid increase to the % it self". so if you got 50% magic find, and item has 2% drop, it does not mean its 52% drop, it means it increases this 2% chance, by 50%, thus making it 3% drop.
so your 100% drop would basicly mean double drop rate in this case

double drop rate is good still that clears things up ty

Multiplicative would be miniscule; I assume it is additive (+x%) like Diablo III and you can certainly have 300% of something.
I wish it were displayed on the hero page.

Having 100% Magic Find doesn’t mean you have 100% droprate, or that you will always get something.
If a creature you are killing/farming has a 2% chance to drop rate on any item, say for example, a Vial of Potent Blood; 100% Magic Find means that you now have 100% higher chance to get a drop. Which 100% on 2% makes a 4% chance to get a Vial of Potent Blood.
All your doing is increase the percent drop rate of what a creatures loot table is by the percent you have.
There is no doubles, it just means if you and I are farming and you have 100% Magic Find and I have none, you are, statistically going to get twice as much as me.

yeah.. i got that from the last person who I quoted. double of the drop rate %. I understood that from what they were saying.

Doesn’t that kinda basically describe ‘double drop rate’? At 100%, even if its turning a 2% to a 4%, that’s still technically double drop rate, is it not?
Just pointing this out.
