I know I have a Problem,...
legendary!
or one of those unique weapons that consume huge amounts of mats =P
what for? i will invest 4 months for a single legendary and then what?
i dont see the point of getting a legendary weopon, its frustrating to get it and dont give you anything at the end :/ if at least the road would be enjoyable to get the weopon i would walk it, but so.. meh… not really
did you play the other characters until level 15 at least? In my experience, the fun really starts at level 10, and at level 15 you’ll get a basic feel of the strengths and weaknesses of a new toon. Before that, they pretty much all play the same.
Stop playing for while and move on to another game, then come back at a later time perhaps? For you to have finished all this that fast, you might just have burned youself out a bit to fast.
Personally I spend countless hours exploring each map to find small hidden puzzles and dungeons, but it sounds like that is not something you would find appealing (afterall different people enjoy different things), but then you have the beauty of a subscription free game to leave and come back after a while.
One suggestion would be to try WvW but try it seriously. I’m not a PvP guy myself but WvW is different enough from regular PvP so that I actually enjoy it (much like JQ, FA and AB in GW 1)
Thieves can serve in a multitude of roles in WvW but to actually enjoy WvW you need (a) a more or less active server and (b) work with a group that knows what to do.
(a) might be trial and error but for (b) there are many guilds that take WvW very seriously and who have open TS3 servers for guests as well.
I find myself drawn more and more to WvW … it can be big fun if you’re outnumbered 3:1 on the world but still manage to hold your keeps by being smart and doing a lot of guerilla footwork.
First thing I would like to say is to consider the reason why you are playing. Story completion, exotic armor, legendary weapons are just rewards at the end and it is (atleast not for me) the reason for playing. The reason for is to have fun.
You have indeed many options. Like cani said, if you are not enjoying yourself anymore you should move along for a while. This game doesn’t have monthly fees so you can quit and start again whenever you want.
The second thing to keep in mind is the 10/22th update next monday. Arenanet promised us an everchanging game while adding new challenges every time. this monday we will have a first glimpse if they are keeping up on that promise.
Like bing said, make sure you really play new characters if you are considering to play through again.
I know that a lot of guilds can use active officers who can help their members (It is something I really enjoy doing).
WvW is indeed also very fun. I never fancied PvP, but WvW doesn’t give a PvP feeling at all. First off all cause your foes doesn’t have player names they are just very smart mobs. Secondly cause there are a good amount of PvE realted things like DE’s and jumping puzzles.
Last off all you might want to consider world completion. It is what I am doing mostly and it is very fun.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
mercury sums it up quite well! : )))
the Halloween event should be a blast! and it’s awesome that you’ve got your lvl 80 exotics and finished your PQ. i’m still working on those, a legendary as well as other cool skins that will take a long time to get, but rather, try to see these things as by-product of you enjoying the game and having fun.
have you explored every corner of Tyria yet? there are a ton of easter eggs and little details that you can stop and notice if you feel the grind is too much / unchanging. like many have said, try WvW)) jumping puzzles, trying to have done every single DE and event chain, beat down every boss.. and when you’ve done that you can try solo-ing said events / bosses as a personal challenge.
this game is designed in such a way where it’s really up to you! : ))) hope you can find ways to enjoy it again, not just as before, but even more! i’ve been maining my Guardian like crazy and have a few alts but haven’t really invested in them either as i am extremely happy with my Guard and the way he plays.
