I have less than 2 gold to my name between all four of my characters (levels 77, 48, 20, 15). Besides the obvious things like waypoints and repairs, I think I spent the majority of it on crafting materials, whenever I was impatient and wanted to reach the next crafting tier without having to go mine 100 more platinum ore or whatever.

Anyway, I’m just about 80 on my main and I’m looking for ways to easily make gold. Open world PvE solutions are preferred since that’s what I mostly play. I’m not averse to running dungeons but I don’t know how I feel about spamming CoF path 1 over and over again. I don’t have any exotic gear so I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be accepted into most parties anyway.

crafting will make you lose money.
you should run cof p1 once a day to get the bonus gold. (i think that’s how it works). you don’t need exotic gear (don’t ask don’t tell) just say “lfg cof p1” and someone will pick you up sooner or later. try gw2lfg.com if you can’t find party

Right now the best way to make gold is to participate in events in the Queen’s Pavillion, you get some nice drops and you can do it on any character as you’re upleveled to 80, and shouldn’t have much problems as long as you stay with the zergs (just look for the commander icons), plus you’ll probably get to 80 quickly by doing them.

Take your level 77 char into the current LS update and make the most of the pavilion arena? I too for some reason never have money in this game, but I’ve made more this past week and much faster than I ever have before, and it’s a lot of fun.

Stop working on any character except for your main, alts are just a money sink..

Sell collected materials on the TP. Most people have more stuff there than they think.

Join a guild and do guild missions (50s a pop).

Flip inexpensive items on the TP (boring and a little risky.)

Go to Divinity’s Reach and do the Queen’s Gambit stuff, it earns pretty good old.

Map completion of the highest zones (Cursed shore, Malcor’s Leap, Frostgorge Sound) will reward you with 1 time loot containing a lot of high level crafting materials, an 2 exotics each. These exotics could either be something worth using when you get to level 80 or could be worth a fair amount of gold in the TP. Always check the value of the sigil/rune in the tp before selling an exotic because sometimes the sigil/rune is actually worth more by itself. In that case us a Black Lion Salvage Kit to get it out.

A few general rules I’ve been following:
1. Don’t pay full price for anything if you can help it. Make offers on TP if you want to buy. For example, a ring is selling for 2g 20s. Make an offer of 1g 90s. Eventually someone who is in a rush or not concerned with gold will sell it to you. It may take a few days to get something, but in the long run, over many purchases, it pays off.

2. Sell all whites, blues, and greens. I’m making at least one gold per day on these. Kill as many world bosses as possible to acquire said whites, blues ,and greens.

3. Salvage all rare (yellow) that you find using master salvage kits. You’l obtain many materials including globs of ectoplasm that make you quick cash or save them away for crafting. Sell all rare sigils on TP, as you’ll usually get 3-4s each, while the vendors pay a little over 1s each.

4. Exotic gear-if it will yield 50+s, sell l TP. If less, Salvage or keep for yourself. Always research the runes: sometimes it is better to salvage the exotic for its rune, with some yielding over 10 gold. Invest in Black Lion salvage kits for this purpose, as they are guaranteed to salvage the rune or sigil.

Anyhow, these are just the things I’m doing daily to earn gold. You can earn more witha daily dungeon and right now the jubilee is yielding good results. I hop in and out between world bosses.
