I'm pretty sure I'm now dead inside.
No, but there is a work-around, even if it’s rather time and resource consuming.
If you infuse one of the rings (using the MF recipe) you can still equip both.
It does warn you however, but it’s very vague. It says it’s unique.

Pretty sure i can’t put a magic find infusion on the Druid’s Circle. It has a defensive infusion slot. Can it be another infusion? Such as Resilient?
No no, you misunderstand.
Upgrade a regular ascended ring in the Mystic Forge using 1 Shard of Crystallized Mists Essence, 3 Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence, and 5 Vial of Condensed Mists Essence. It’ll become a Druid’s Circle (Infused) which is different from the regular one so you can equip both. However, don’t upgrade the other one then or you once again won’t be able to wear both.
File a support ticket. Customer support has helped players in the same situation as you in the past.
That is your best and only option.

Thanks a bunch. This makes it better, i guess. It’s still extremely disappointing. This needs a warning somewhere, i shouldn’t have to lose an entire trinket’s worth of laurels to learn my lesson.
ticket submitted. Now we wait and see if i will quit for a month or two out of frustration.
I had that happen to me. Submitted the support ticket. It took 3 days but it got done. On another note get your rings from WvW 25 and 250 tokens is much better than spending the extra 10 laurels.

Well I hope they re-compensate you then. But for the record, my solution I offered you does work so whining at Anet is not your only option.

You’ll get your stuff back. But if you quit for a month over an ingame item, maybe you should consider quitting permanently. It’s a game, not something important.

They really need to implement a “sell back” button on Karma, Laurel and Guild Commendation vendors much like the buy back button they have on merchants. The current implementation isn’t player friendly. Support shouldn’t have to become involved just to overcome the shortsightedness of the programmers in things like this.

Great info—I bought 2 of the same kind and found I could only equip one. I just figured that support would laugh and say too bad so I never did it. I will now. But I agree that there needs to be a clear warning when making the purchase, there isn’t and that likely why they will refund. And yes a sell back for karma, laurels should be implemented.

While the idea is worth considering, many “mistakes” in this area (not this one in particular) are between the ears of the user, not the programmers. Dumping all the blame for these “mistakes” in the laps of programmers or UI designers is not an accurate placement of “blame”.
I 100% agree that if a change takes work off ANet’s Support team, it should be a high priority for them to look into it, but chalking all these issues up to bad UI design and programming is a bit unfair.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances

Come do fractal of the mist… you get more rings than you can imagine …after a while.

This. Exactly this.

It’s a game, but it’s still time/effort wasted. Personally, I’m pretty protective of my free time because I don’t always have a lot of it … I’d be fuming too to discover I’d wasted it.
