I need help getting (back) into GW2.
Honestly, you have to keep playing, unlock more skills (weapon skills as well as utility skills), and use traits to customize your build in order to really get to know a class. If you haven’t played significantly past level 10 or so, you haven’t even begun to scratch the depth of character customization. Trust me, there’s a playstyle for everyone, and a way to build your character to accommodate that playstyle. To get more experience, try working on crafting and exploration instead of just fighting. Or if you want to mindlessly zerg to get loot and exp very easily, try the Queensdale farm.
More depth? Engineer, Elementalist, Mesmer, or Guardian. They all have lots of build options and depth of play.

Go to that page to get a brief overview of each profession and if something interests you, go to the page of that profession and see what weapons they can use and what kind of playstyle each weapon offers them. Then try it out in the game and if you don’t like it, try another weapon set and so on. That is how I went about with my characters. Honestly though, leveling in this game is a lot faster compared to other MMO’s. You can easily get multiple characters to level 80 in a few weeks. If you get bored of one character, just make a character of another class and play it for a while. Keep doing this until you have tried all professions and weapon combos until you decide to adopt one of those characters as your main or just continue swapping to another character when you are bored.
