I’ve been looking into each profession and can’t seem to decide on which one I want to play. I’m looking for something that is versatile and also fun. Basically what I mean by versatile is that they have options to use many different weapons, can produce a good to high dps, have good survivability. If anything, like a jack of all trades. I enjoy the look of medium and heavy armor so the class could wear that. So which profession would be the best fitted for the profession I’m describing. Another thing is which race would be best fitted for the profession. My two favorite are norn and human, which of those fit the profession that you picked the best?

You are describing warrior to a “T”. Norn or human warrior would be good for a warrior. You have the most weapons to choose from, great health pool and can put out great DPS. You can be mobile. You can range or melee. Yes, warrior is for you.

I think Warrior would fit best, but I think engineer would also fit. The only thing missing with engineer is the ability to use a lot of weapons. They can only use pistol, shield, and rifle (however they have kit swapping which acts as a new weapon).

All races fit all professions, it’s up to you which you think would look best.

The design philosophy of classes in GW2 is that the are all jack of all trades to an extent. Every class can be built for good survivability, and every class can be built to glass cannon. Throughout PvE until you near max level/fully geared you will be a generalist no matter what class you choose. As mentioned, Warriors do strike a very close balance between dps and survivability and they have a ton of weapons to choose from.

You just described a warrior. You would probably also enjoy a Ranger or Engineer.

Norn and Human are good classes for all three of these professions. So is Charr (for engineer and warrior)

But ultimately, your race is your choice and preference!

Many weapons + Good survivability + Good dps – Versatile = Warrior (Generally you won’t be thinking of anything but dps)
Many ‘weapons’ + Versatile + Good survivability – Good dps = Engineer
Good survivability + Good dps – Many weapons – Versatile = Ranger

Warrior seems to be the best match.
